No accounts
The app requires no registration and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
Your content stays yours
Your searches, your list, your review cards, your history, your conversations with the Coach, your first name if you gave it, and your preferences are stored on your phone. They go to no server of ours, and they disappear when you delete the app. The dictionary, the message decoder, the voices and the review work offline: what you type there never leaves your phone.
The AI features
Some features use a Google language model (Gemini, through Firebase): translating a whole sentence, explaining a message and suggesting replies, the Coach, microphone input and “Say it”. To answer you, the app sends Google the text you typed or pasted and, for the voice features, a short recording of your voice (ten seconds at most). The request carries no identifier that points to you, and we keep nothing: we have no server. On the paid Gemini tier, Google does not use this content to train its models. It may keep it briefly to detect abuse, as its terms describe.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) on iPhone and by Google (Google Play) on Android. We never see your payment details. To verify access to Pro we use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA), which validates Apple's or Google's receipt using an anonymous installation identifier. Never your name or email.
Usage analytics
The app measures its own usage with PostHog (PostHog, Inc.), hosted in the United States. Events are tied to a random installation identifier, pseudonymous, never linked to your identity, and describe feature usage (a screen was opened, a search was made), never the content you typed. If you report an AI answer (“Report this answer”), we receive that answer and the reason you picked; for a translation, it carries the meaning of your sentence, never the sentence itself, nor your voice. On Android, at the first launch, the app also reads the tag of the link that brought you to Google Play (for example “darija.pro”): it names the link, never you. Using the app constitutes acceptance of these measurements. This data is never sold. This website measures its visits the same way, without cookies.
The Android waiting list
If you leave your email on a creator page of this site for the Android version, we keep it at Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., United States), the site's host, only to write to you the day that version ships. It serves no other purpose and you can ask us to delete it at [email protected].
What we never do
No third-party advertising. No sale or sharing of data with data brokers. No tracking across other companies' apps or websites. No access to your contacts or photos. The microphone is used only when you press the microphone button or “Say it”, never in the background.
If you write to us, directly or through a “Report” button that pre-fills a message in your own mail app, we keep the exchange for as long as it takes to fix the issue and reply.
Your rights
Because the app holds no account and no identity, deleting the app deletes your local data. Analytics events are pseudonymous. To have them deleted, write to us from the app's “Help” button: the message carries your installation's anonymous identifier, which lets us delete what is tied to it at RevenueCat and PostHog. Changes
When this policy changes, this page and the date above change with it. A change that would broaden collection is announced in the app first.
